Seabrook Island’s Beaches

Seabrook Island Beach view at afternoon

Seabrook Island is home to two stunning beaches on its southeast coast: Pelican Beach and North Beach. Which one is right for you depends on what you’re looking for. No matter which one you go with, there are hours of fun to be had at both!

Pelican Beach at Seabrook Island

Often deemed the more scenic of the two beaches, Pelican Beach (also known as Sunset Beach) is a popular spot for photographers looking to capture dreamlike impressions of the beach, especially at sunset. Sitting at the intersection of the Atlantic Ocean and the Edisto River, Pelican Beach is also the more popular of the two beaches, making this a great place for families to swim and play in the soft, white sand.

North Beach at Seabrook Island

Sitting closer to the eastern shore of Seabrook Island, North Beach is known for its more intense water and quiet shore. This expansive beach is the perfect setting for a long couple’s walk or a stroll with your pet, as North Beach features designated off-leash areas. Just remember that some areas of the beach are completely restricted for pets. North Beach is also the first spot the sun touches on Seabrook Island, making it a stunning spot to see the sunrise.

Tips before visiting Seabrook Island Beaches:

  • Check the rules before bringing a pet – While both beaches are pet-friendly, there are rules about when and where pets can be walked.
  • Beach access is private to residents and guests – Visitors to Seabrook can access the island’s beaches near the Clubhouse or in their respective neighborhoods.
