What is the Weather Like on Seabrook Island?

Before heading out on your long weekend trip, it’s important to keep in mind the weather on Seabrook Island. Of course, the weather will vary throughout the year depending on which month you visit, but it’s usually very temperate. You won’t find bitingly cold temperatures here! In fact, many snowbird renters actually flock near Charleston for the warm weather. Even though it might not be hot enough to swim, temperatures in the 40s sure beat the bitter cold of the Northeast and other parts of the country.

Summers are hot here, but not so hot that you can’t get outside and enjoy the beach. No matter which long weekend you choose to visit, the weather on Seabrook Island will most likely be pleasant.

Whether you arrive late Friday night or early Saturday morning, you’ll want the first day of your long weekend near Charleston to be nice and relaxing. With 3.5 miles of sandy shore beaches, that’s an easy order here on Seabrook Island.

Our number one recommendation for some top-notch relaxation would be having a beach day. Our local beaches are stunning. The American Shore & Beach Preservation Association voted Seabrook Island Beach the country’s “Best Restored Beach.” The Seabrook Island Property Association works hard to care for, protect, and preserve the wildlife and natural environment of the island, so you’ll find all kinds of wildlife in and around the beach, from sea turtles to dolphins.

At the end of day one, don’t forget to watch the sunset over one of the marshes on the island. You can stay put on the beach, or see a lovely sunset view from most of our rentals! After the sunset, enjoy a nice meal at a local restaurant. There are many great dining options on the island, depending on what you’re in the mood for.

For your first night on the island, check out the dining options at the Seabrook Island Club. You can’t go wrong with stunning ocean views and delicious food at the Palmetto Room or Pelican’s Nest! Enjoy a taste of what the locals love when you dine here.

Day 2: Explore the Island or Venture Into Nearby Charleston

Ready for some adventure on day 2 of your long weekend? Head into Charleston for the day if you want to experience the excitement of downtown! It’s only about a 45-minute drive from our rentals into downtown Charleston, so you can explore the best the city has to offer, like carriage rides through the city, delicious restaurants, and historical landmarks and monuments.

On the other hand, perhaps you’re wanting to escape Charleston for a few days on your long weekend. That’s perfectly understandable, too! If you want to contain your long weekend to Seabrook Island itself, don’t worry; there is plenty to do on our island. Check out all the club amenities at the Seabrook Island Club, like tennis and swimming pools, or head out for a hike and reconnect with nature! There are several accessible hiking trails ranging in length and difficulty on the island, so you can cater your jaunt to exactly what you need.

Day 3: Explore Classic Seabrook Island Activities

Make the last day of your long weekend one to remember. Are you a golfer? If so, you can’t leave the island without playing a round or two. The golf on Seabrook Island is incredible; don’t miss out on this golden opportunity! Crooked Oaks is conveniently located right here on the island, so you won’t have to go far. You could also head over to Kiawah Island (only about a 15 minute drive) to play their famous Ocean Winds Course. You can’t go wrong with either one! Check out more information on each course in our golf on Seabrook Island blog post.

If you’re not a golfer, there’s still plenty to do on Seabrook Island! Have you ever ridden a horse on the beach? Now’s your chance! The Seabrook Island Equestrian Center caters to riders of all skill levels and allows you the opportunity to ride a horse on the beach. What a dream come true!
